Who can apply to the Spark Awards?

Anyone from anywhere in the world may apply. Your venture must be led by at least one Muslim founder or reflect values aligned with the Continuum’s 7 core principles.

Do I have to be religious or Islamic to apply?

No. Your venture does not need to be religious in theme — for example, building innovative health tech solutions that could transform millions of lives is absolutely welcome.

What is the purpose of the award?

Collective Continuum wants to change the landscape of who can contribute to world changing ideas, and to send a signal to firms, foundations and private capital that this is a founder space worth investing in.

Will my travel and accommodation be covered if I am selected as a finalist?

Yes. All selected finalists will have their travel and lodging in Doha covered by the program.

Can I apply to both tracks?

You may only apply to one track (Startup or Non-Profit) per venture.

How much funding can I receive?

Selected startups may receive up to $100,000 USD via a post-money SAFE investment. This amount may be distributed based on jury decisions and investment readiness.

What is SAFE investment?

A SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) is the industry standard investment instrument that gives investors the right to receive equity in a company at a future date (when certain conditions are met).

What stage should my startup be at?

We are open to ventures from Pre-Seed to Bridge stage. You should have an MVP or more. We are not funding idea-only ventures.

Is there a specific sector you’re focused on?

No. We are sector-agnostic. What matters most is impact, viability, and values.

Do I need a full pitch deck to apply?

Yes. You'll be asked to submit a short pitch deck (max 3 mins or 10MB) and a 1-minute founder video.
